Slide Hammer Spoons are designed to slide on the line. When the fish strikes the lure slides up the line out of the mouth. The hook is sucked in securing the catch. This sliding feature prevents the fish from biting and bending the lure when playing the fish to the net. The fish cannot use the lure as a lever to throw the hook. Instead of tying the line to the ring on the lead end of the spoon you tie directly to the ring and hook assembly. Then the line is passed through the clevis attached to the tail end of the spoon and on through the ring on the lead end of the spoon. Rig the spoon with the same leader size and length that would be used with a traditional Silver Horde spoon. The lure will fish with the same fish enticing action.
